Microalgae is not only considered as the substitute of green energy in the future, but also contained various kinds of functional lipids. There are not only eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which is known as "blood vessel scavenger", but also docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which is known as "gold for brain", and arachidonic acid (ARA), which is essential in human tissues and involves the transformation of intermediate lipid molecules.
In the huge group of microalgae, Demeter has developed a series of microalgae species with the potential to produce functional lipids through accurate quantitative detection methods such as chromatography and mass spectrometry.
In the future, Demeter will continue to make efforts in this field and maximize the application potential of microalgae lipids through a multi-pronged approach in algae species screening, chassis construction, metabolic network reconstruction, and culture model innovation.
